Despite facing adversity and derogatory remarks, Dr. Kilby persevered, earning multiple degrees, including an honorary doctorate, emphasizing her intelligence and capability. Known for her historical autobiography "Wit, Will, and Walls" and co-authorship of "Cousins" with Phoebe Kilby, Dr. Baldwin's work delves into confronting the past and navigating paths to reconciliation. Featured in documentaries and holding a Doctorate of Humane Letters, her remarkable experiences underscore the ongoing importance of recognizing Black history.
